A workshop for physicians, therapists and other healing professionals
The focus of this 3-hour workshop is on developing mindfulness skills to improve clinical outcomes for patients and reduce stress for practitioners.
Mindfulness practices develop one’s ability to “listen in” on our own chatter, to engage the kinder and wiser parts of ourselves as we navigate how to engage productively and compassionately with our patients.
Through didactic presentations, guided practice and dialogue, participant’s will: • Develop more skillful responses to difficulties and decrease burn-out
• Increase the capacity for “deep listening” that actually saves time and energy • Learn simple tools to bring more awareness into daily life
In addition, we will outline the various 8-week programs offered at El Camino Hospital and around the Bay Area, so that the clinician may evaluate whether this resource may enhance their work with patients.
